Discover two of New Zealand’s top ski fields on Mt Ruapehu, where there’s so much fun to have on and off the slopes.

Mt Ruapehu Ski-Fields:
Turoa: Anticipated Closing Date of 22/10/18
Whakapapa: Anticipated Closing Date of 22/10/18

It’s Easy To Get To The Slopes

Driving in winter is easy, just hire a car and set off at your own pace – both ski fields have car parks. Or, if you don’t fancy driving, just sit back, relax and enjoy the scenery on one of the many shuttle buses that will bring you straight to the ski field.

Drive

Both ski fields are accessible by car and driving yourself means you can arrive or leave whenever you want. For more information on driving in winter.

  • Whakapapa: 30 mins from National Park, 15 minutes from Whakapapa Village, 1 hour 15 mins from Taupo.
  • Turoa: 20 mins from Ohakune, 2 hours from Taupo.

Shuttle bus

  • Hop on one of the regular shuttle buses that run to and from towns.

South Island Ski-Field Closing Dates

From wide open slopes for beginners to heli-skiing for the more experienced, the South Island has epic snow for everyone.

Southern Lakes Ski-Fields:
Cardrona: Anticipated Closing Date of 14/10/18
The Remarkables: Anticipated Closing Date of 7/10/18
Coronet Peak: Anticipated Closing Date of 1/10/18
Treble Cone: Anticipated Closing Date of 23/09/18
